Arts and Sciences Student Academic Services is located in 213 Life Sciences East in the College of Arts & Sciences Student Success Center. To make an appointment to speak with an adviser, you can use our online calendar (see "Appointment Calendar" link to the left) or call 405.744.5658.

• We are here Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Advisers are available for scheduled appointments 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 - 4:00 p.m.
• You have an assigned advisor who can help you: find information, make the most of your classes, learn about campus opportunities, discover your area(s) of interest,  . . .etc.
• We are available for academic counseling throughout the year - not just during enrollment.
• You may browse through (and take copies of) the Arts & Sciences major degree sheets stored in the file cabinet in the waiting area.
• You may see any adviser in the office for general information or questions if your assigned adviser is unavailable.

If you have questions or concerns, chances are one of the following individuals will have the answer or know where to look for it.  Do not hesitate to contact your advisor for any reason.  The better informed you keep us about your academic progress, the better able we are to help when problems arise.  Take some time to get to know your adviser and let your adviser get to know you.

Education: B.A., Oklahoma State University, Speech Communication Consultancy (1983); M.S., Oklahoma State University, Speech (1985).

Career: Has been an adviser in Arts & Sciences since August 1985. Handles pre-law and undecided student advising and is past President of the Southwest Association of Pre-Law Advisers.

Personal: Married, has two daughters, and a dog. Enjoys walking, reading, and cooking.

Dr. Amy Martindale, Director, Student Academic Services

Dr. Martindale earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Texas Tech University in 2003 and her doctorate in higher education from the University of Arkansas. Her passion is to help students achieve the academic success to enable them to graduate and go on to reach their ultimate career and educational goals. Dr. Martindale presented her retention research at the 2008 ACT Enrollment Planners Conference, the 2008 National Symposium for Student Retention, and the 2009 meeting of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE).

Career: Academic Counselor (2006-Present); Coordinator of Certifications, Assistant Registrar, and Associate Registrar (OSU Office of the Registrar 1981-2006).

Personal: Lives in Stillwater. Married with one daughter. Enjoys camping, following drum corps, spending time with family, and OSU Sports.

Career: Worked with ICx Nomadics, Inc.. prior to coming to OSU, an engineering firm devoted to sensor instrumentation and nanotechnology.

Personal: Spends her free time singing, listening to music, and traveling whenever she's not bicycling, spiking volleyballs, or watching OSU sports.

Career: Academic Counselor (March 2008 to present); Director, Learning Technology Center/Academic Technologist (UW-Platteville, 1998-2008); Help Desk Manager (AT&T Wireless Services, Seattle, WA, 1996-1998) 

Personal: Anthony is an OSU alumnus, recently returned to Stillwater from Wisconsin. He likes movies, reading, and spending time with friends.

Career: Has been with OSU since 1984. Currently advises undecided students and coordinates Arts & Sciences Freshman Orientation (A&S 1111).

Sandra has been with Arts and Sciences since 1986.  She works with departmental advisers and students on issues concerning graduation certification and NCAA eligibility forms.

Cheryl attended OSU for 2 years. She has worked for OSU since 1994 and with Arts and Sciences since October 1995. She enjoys sports (especially baseball).
